Training your mind is like training a dog. 

The most important thing is to teach both the dog and the mind to first “sit” and then stay. 

When we get the mind to sit it is anchored in the present moment. 

The challenge is then to get the mind to stay because it wants to run around like a little puppy. 

This is where a mantra comes in handy. 

The mantra is like giving the dog a stick to chew on. 

The mind has something to come back to and to focus on during mantra meditation.
