Synopsis
19th Century poet Ian MacLaren wrote, “Be kind. Everyone you meet is carrying a heavy burden.”
That statement is more true now than ever.
Did you know that according to psychologists, each of us has what’s called an allostatic load — think of a stress thermostat where if things get too stressful for you, you find ways to relax and shut down.
AND, the allostatic load also works the other way — believe it or not, if we don’t feel sufficiently stressed our minds will find something to be upset or worry about.
The mind then finds something annoying, irritating, or bothersome so allostatic load feels adequately upset.
These days on top of our pre-existing allostatic load we pile on a global pandemic and quarantine and you’ve got a powder keg about to explode.
So, what can you do on a daily basis to lighten your stress?
In this JumpStart, I give you 3 little secrets you can do every day, starting right now, to help you feel less stressed, more chill, and even more focused.
Be sure to post your questions and comments, I respond to them all personally!
