I remember asking my high school psych teacher, “What exactly is sleep.?”

After a moment’s pause and feeling he must always have an answer (even if it’s wrong) he sagaciously replied, “Sleep is the unconscious passing out of the human body due to exhaustion.”

(‘Sounds profound, right?)

It also happens to be complete nonsense!

Sleep is a neurochemical process that should reset our brains.

Sleep should be like shaking an etch-a-sketch, it should erase today’s struggles and suffering while putting new learnings into long-term memory.

But, if you’re like most people you get choppy, incomplete sleep, that rarely prepares you for the next day.

In this JumpStart, let’s revisit the importance of a good night’s sleep and how to make sure you get the max from those precious hour’s under the sheets…
