Synopsis
After yesterday’s JumpStart, I felt incomplete.
Although I shared some of the dark history of my family’s racism and the idea that no one seems to spot their own racism, I felt like I should have gone deeper offering suggestions and advice to spot our biases.
Let’s JumpStart race and explore how we can come together as the one and only human race.
In almost every culture, there is a group (either race or religion) in power and an “other” who is often described as being unethical, unclean, uneducable, and immoral.
Using those prejudices over and over, cultures have been divided along racial and religious lines throughout history.
If we want to open ourselves up to a new reality, we need to change our beliefs and open our minds and hearts to others.
