In a normal year, there is an average of 150 in-flight incidents involving unruly passengers on airplanes.

But in just the last 4 months, there have been…get this: 1,300 such incidents and they’re increasing daily to the point that American Airlines has issued panic buttons to many flight attendants.

What’s causing this rise in airline incivility?

Politics.

More specifically, how both political sides are seeking to enrage and engage their base.

Let’s unpack how the media seeks to enrage us to keep us engaged and how this engagement is leading to acts of protest and even violence.
