Synopsis
If you’re finding it difficult to relax, try my little secret.
Engage 2 of your senses in something relaxing simultaneously.
For example, listen to Baroque classical music while burning incense.
Drink mint tea while taking a bath.
There seems to be a compounding effect when we engage in more than one relaxing activity at the same time.
In this JumpStart, let’s unpack how to relax your body which will also relax your mind by stacking things that relax you.

I lived outside New York City from age 12-15 in the 1950’s and stacked my self care by studying classical music and being in the company of people who loved me. How blessed I was!
While I am driving, I look for things that are satisfying when I see them or think about them. Usually after a few minutes of doing that I feel appreciation and begin to List what I appreciate and why. This self-care technique keeps me feeling good in the moment and soon I see very positive things coming my way, and I acknowledge that it’s as a result I’ve taking care of myself.
Thank you Will! This exercise has been truly the best I’ve ever done. And all the lessons that come with it seem like they are infinite!
I know that by removing complaining/criticism/gossip that I leave so much more room in my mind and heart for lessons like this.
My self care is riding my bike and listening to music. And I’m building other versions of self care all the time. I know that self care also helps silence my inner critic who doesn’t want me to take care of me!
With love,
Jim
