Synopsis
Where were you on the morning of September 11, 2021?
You remember, right?
Of course you remember, we all do.
I was sitting in a prayer class in ministerial school.
After the news was broken to us that a plane had just crashed into the world trade center and we all went into “serious prayer” I spontaneously burst into song.
I’m grateful for that moment of song, a moment of healing for us all.
Today let’s look back with open hearts.
Let’s look forward with open minds.

As an Ordained Minister with Pathways of Light and a 40 year practitioner of the Course in Miracles I always look to the lessons from the course to interpret things. One of those is “I am not a victim of the world I see” How hard it is to apply this to 9/11. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering of those who lost people that day and I have friends who still have ptsd who were close to the attack. I am so sorry for anyone who lost loved ones. The entire curriculum of the course is about forgiveness. “Forgiveness is the key to happiness”. That may be very tough to practice on this subject but I cant leave this out of that practice. Our nation has been an exporter of terror as well particularly in our neighboring Central America. From the perspective I have gotten so far from reading Complaint Free World it seems to lean heavily into taking 100% responsibility for our lives as individuals and I believe we also have a shared responsibility as a nation. I can only pray that I don’t terrorize others and that as a nation we don’t terrorize others in the future.
My husband and I were home in California when we saw one tower come down on
TV news. My son is a pilot for American Airlines and was in New York City that day.
We were very worried and praying that he was safe.
When he called we were so thankful he was safe and so sad for those who were
did not have that outcome. We never want to forget those who did not make it
and those who helped save others.
You are right, peace starts within our own hearts. Your positive podcast is one
way to help attain peace. My son has continued to send me one each day for
over a year now.

Your message resonated with me and I thank you for sharing your experience. I was in Texas at my brother and sister-in-law‘s house with my five-year-old son. They were packing up the house to move back to Missouri A bit earlier than planned, as a result of my wonderful husband of 23 1/2 years transitioning on June 2 of 2001. He was hit head on in a head on vehicle collision and suddenly passed as a result. We were very blessed with a beautiful family of three daughters and a son, the oldest daughter was married at that time and we had a granddaughter on the way. I clung to my Faith, believing with all my heart that I was not alone and that everything always works out for me and everything happens for a reason and that reason is there to serve me. I came to realize that all I could handle was one moment at a time. So On 09/11, I was mostly stunned and shocked and continued to cling to my faith which never let me down. Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me are words that resonate with me to the core of my very being.Thank you for your beautifully relevant memorial. One day at a time.
I was teaching the timeline on 9/11/2021. I was in my second year of teaching children when it happened in 2001. The title confused me.
During my drive home I passed the Atlantic City Airport and jets were flying out over head. They were actually the first responders in the air in the NYC area, I believe.
