Synopsis
The movie “The Big Short” is a great explanation of the housing collapse of ‘08 and the powerful ensemble cast in the movie are excellent.
In one scene, Steve Carrell’s character enters a group therapy session late and begins addressing everyone assembled loudly talking over the man who was sharing something deeply personal.
In time, Carrell’s character heals from his grief over his brother’s suicide and his focus begins to shift from himself toward others.
It helps us all to remember that:
- Self-obsessed people are hurting, not hateful
- Saying “You first” in situations is an affirmation of mental health and maturity
- Giving others the right of way can actually lead to greater abundance
